Recently, the Official Gazette of the European Union published the regulations of the Commission, which set a scientific standard for the determination of the characteristics of endocrine interferon. The standard will be implemented from October 20, 2018, and the EU will vote on the draft before it is implemented.
According to the regulations, by October 20, 2025, the committee will present the evaluation results of the application of the scientific standard to all members.
Since October 20, 2018, if the active ingredients, safety agents or synergists meet the following conditions, they are considered to possess the characteristics of endocrine interferon, which may have adverse effects on the human body unless there is evidence that they are harmless to the human body:
1. The substance has adverse effects on the original healthy human body or its offspring.
2. The substance changes the function of the endocrine system.
3. Endocrine mode of action causes adverse effects.
Since October 20, 2018, if the active ingredients, safety agents or synergists meet the following conditions, they are considered to possess the characteristics of endocrine interferons, which adversely affect non-target organisms unless there is evidence that they are harmless to non-target organisms:
1. The substance has adverse effects on non-target organisms, which can change their morphology, physiology, growth, development, reproduction or longevity, as well as affect the system or population, resulting in functional damage, impairing the ability to repair adversity, or increasing the sensitivity to other effects.
2. The substance changes the operation of the endocrine system.
3. Endocrine mode of action causes adverse effects.
